Strand Art Conservation – directed by Doug Zihrul, has been In The Picture’s choice of fine art conservator, for over 2 decades now. Doug offers conservation treatment for works of various types of art on paper, as well as documents.
Doug is particularly skilled at lessening the appearance of, or completely removing all together ( based on the quality of the substrate ) acid spots and mould from artworks such as – watercolours, prints, etchings, lithographs, documents and illustrations. He has been working with paper, a notoriously difficult area of conservation, since the 1970s and we are proud to recommend him as our conservator of choice.
